Recognizing the Impact of Migraine on the Workplace

An IHPM/Ingenix survey of major employers found that migraine was one of the Top Five reasons for lost productivity at work – presenteeism -- and it’s more prevalent than diabetes or depression in the working-age population;  published research shows that these productivity losses can be reduced substantially by appropriate treatment -- yet migraines are not well understood and only half of migraineurs have seen a physician about their headaches.  This represents a major opportunity for health and productivity management.
