IHPM’s 6th Annual EU/UK Health and Productivity Forum moves to London this year, and returns to Unilever House – site of our original overseas forum a decade ago and home to a true global leader in improving employee health as an investment in human capital.  In this ideal setting on the Thames, a select number of attendees will be hearing from other global corporate leaders in HPM, as well – Intel, DuPont, Navistar International, and BP International.  There also will be case studies from MARS in Poland and VIPnet in Croatia, and from award-winning public employers in the U.S. – the City of Phoenix, the State of Washington, and a truly unique story from Manatee County, Florida.  Special features will include findings from an international survey on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (the next chronic disease ”epidemic” globally), a session on Vaccines and Pandemics, a discussion of major Health System Reforms in the U.K. and the U.S., and a “from-the-trenches” report on Integrating Best Occupational Health Practices into Construction of the Site for the 2012 London Olympics.  And all of this will be kicked off by Dame Carol Black, National Director of Health and Work and a featured speaker around the world, with a “UK Perspective on Health, Wealth and Productivity.”

We are pleased – and honored – to be presenting this outstanding program on a theme that IHPM has been carrying around the world in recent years, to Asia and Latin America as well as to Europe – that the physical and mental health of the work force is crucial to the economic health of business and the nation.  London, a true international capital, and Unilever House, headquarters of a true global corporate leader, are the perfect site for this event.
